- Former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor has been acquitted by a Delhi court in the Sunanda Pushkar death case.
- Shashi Tharoor's wife Sunanda died in a mysterious condition in a five-star hotel on January 17, 2014.
- A few days before her death, Sunanda had accused Tharoor of having an affair with a Pakistani female journalist.
- Tharoor was made an accused in this case and a case was registered against him under Section 307, 498A of IPC.
- After the court verdict, Shashi Tharoor said, "Grateful to you, your honour... Seven and a half years have been spent in complete pain and torture... I am extremely satisfied..."
