Pegasus espionage case: Center said in the Supreme Court - 'all countries are buying this kind of software'
- The Supreme Court today heard a petition seeking a probe into the spying of several people using Pegasus software.
- Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Centre, told the Supreme Court that in this case all countries are buying such software.
- He said, "We have nothing to hide but the kind of demand being made in the petition may threaten the security of the country."
- Mehta said, "Petitioners want that if the software is not used then it should be disclosed. Terrorists can take advantage if they disclose it."
- The court said that no one would like to compromise with the security of the nation. The court has issued a notice to the Center and sought a reply in 10 days.
