BJP leader Ashwini Upadhyay, arrested for raising slogans in Jantar Mantar, gets bail

  • On August 8, a large number of Hindu organizations gathered at Jantar Mantar in Delhi without any permission and anti-Muslim slogans were raised.  
  • As soon as the slogan 'Mullah Kaate Jayenge, Ram-Ram Chilayenge' went viral on social media, the police swung into action and started questioning the organizers of the event.  
  • In this case, the main BJP leaders of the program Ashwini Upadhyay, Vinod Sharma, Deepak Singh, Vineet Kranti, Preet Singh, Deepak were detained on the same day.  
  • Former BJP spokesperson and Supreme Court lawyer Ashwini Upadhyay, who has now been arrested in this case of sloganeering, has been granted bail by the Delhi High Court.  
  • The court has granted bail to Upadhyay on a personal bond of Rs 50,000. Talking to the media, Upadhyay said that the organizer of the event was Save India Foundation, which he does not know.
