'I also have a little Kashmiriyat...': Rahul Gandhi said in J&K, targets the central government
- Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, who arrived in Srinagar for the first time after the end of the special status of J&K in the year 2019, has demanded the restoration of the state status of J&K.
- Rahul also criticized the govt for suppressing the voice of the opposition. He said, "Whenever we raised the issue of Pegasus and Jammu and Kashmir, our voice was stopped."
- Connecting himself emotionally with the people of Kashmir, Rahul said, "I have a little Kashmiriyat. Ghulam Nabi Azadji had asked me to raise the issue of Kashmir in Parliament but I want to tell you that we were not allowed to speak about it."
- "There are many issues like Pegasus, corruption and unemployment which I wanted to raise but was not given a chance to speak", he added.
- He said, "Today this is not only about J&K but about all the institutions. Like the judiciary, Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha are being attacked. Media is not exposing the truth..it is being suppressed, it is being threatened."
