Center should take initiative to remove 50% reservation limit: CM Uddhav Thackeray
- Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray asked the Center to remove the 50 per cent cap on reservation to restore Maratha reservation.
- Addressing the people, the CM said, "But such relaxation, the states will not be helped in preparing their own list of OBCs and providing reservation."
- Thackeray said, "Now, the Center has given the states the right to prepare the OBC list, then it should relax the 50 percent limit on reservation."
- He said, "My govt is committed to finding a permanent solution in respect of floods, cyclones and landslides to prevent loss of life and property."
- Letting you know, the Union Cabinet has approved a Constitution Amendment Bill, which gives power to states and union territories to make their own OBC list.
