Karnataka: Govt accords cabinet minister status to Yeddyurappa, facilities will be available till Bommai remains CM

  • The Bommai govt of Karnataka has given facilities to former CM BS Yediyurappa as a cabinet minister. These facilities will continue till Bommai is the CM.
  • The order was issued by the Under Secretary, Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR) on Saturday.
  • The order of the Protocol Wing of the DPAR mentions that as long as the current CM Basavaraj Bommai continues, Yeddyurappa will continue to get all the facilities of a cabinet-level minister.
  • According to official sources, a cabinet rank minister gets some allowances and facilities including vehicles, official accommodation.
  • Yediyurappa can now continue to use a government bungalow, vehicle, 11 employees and security have been provided by the govt.
