
Pegasus espionage case: Mamata govt to get the matter investigated, commission constituted
- West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has taken an important decision after the name of the central govt came to the fore in the alleged spying of big personalities through Pegasus spyware.
- Banerjee has announced the formation of a commission to investigate the matter. In a special cabinet meeting chaired by her, it was decided to constitute a commission, whose members would be retired judges.
- CM Mamata said in a press conference in Kolkata, "We thought that the Centre would set up an inquiry commission to investigate the phone hacking."
- "Or a court-monitored inquiry would be ordered, but the government is not doing anything", she further added.
- Mamata said that's why she has decided to set up a commission of inquiry to look into the matter.
