'We never said no': Owaisi's party AIMIM denies alliance with SP
- AIMIM has denied reports of alliance with the Samajwadi Party for the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.
- AIMIM's UP president Shaukat Ali said, 'We never said that if SP comes to power and Akhilesh Yadav makes a Muslim leader as Deputy CM, then we will have an alliance with him."
- "We categorically deny these reports as neither I nor AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has ever made such a statement", he further added.
- "We had said that the SP got 20 % Muslim votes in the last elections and came to power, but they did not make any Muslim deputy CM," he said.
- Owaisi had reportedly said on Saturday that he was ready to ally with the party if SP chief Akhilesh Yadav agreed to make a Muslim MLA the deputy CM in UP.
