
Common man struck and the govt is busy filling pockets! 3.35 lakh crore earned from excise duty of petrol and diesel
- On one hand, the common man is suffering due to the cost of expensive petrol and diesel and on the other hand, it is filling the pocket of the government.
- New records have been set. The govt said in the Lok Sabha that in the last financial year, Rs 3.35 lakh crore has been earned from excise duty on petrol and diesel.
- Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameshwar Teli said that the government had increased the excise duty on petrol and diesel last year.
- Excise duty on petrol was increased to Rs 32.90 per litre, while excise duty on diesel was increased to Rs 31.8 per litre.
- Let us tell you, this increase was made at a time when there was a significant fall in oil prices in the international market due to the Corona epidemic.
