"Telangana govt is not giving our share of water": Andhra Pradesh reaches SC on water dispute
- The matter of Andhra Pradesh's tussle with Telangana over drinking water and irrigation water has reached the Supreme Court.
- The Andhra Pradesh government has applied in the Supreme Court in this matter.
- The state govt in its petition has cited a letter of the Telangana govt in which it has been categorically denied water supply from the Srisailam dam.
- Referring to the Krishna river water-sharing agreement, the Andhra govt said that the Telangana govt is refusing to give proper water to Andhra for its share of the people.
- The Andhra govt's plea said that the water level in the Srisailam dam has depleted significantly as the Telangana govt is using most of the water in the hydroelectric project before the Krishna river reaches the reservoir.
