The Congress has given indications before the monsoon session of Parliament that it is ready to surround the govt on the issue of inflation.
Congress leader P Chidambaram and party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala held a press conference on the issue.
Congress said that the central govt should immediately reduce the prices of petrol, diesel and LPG.
It said, "The import duty on essential goods should be reduced. The GST rate should also be reduced on the goods used on a large scale."
Chidambaram said that Congress will demand a discussion on inflation in the upcoming Parliament session.
