Nitin Raut on privatization of LIC- 'Modi government got addicted to privatization like liquor'
- Amid the Corona crisis, the Modi govt, which is moving rapidly towards privatization, cleared the way for handing over the LIC of India to private hands.
- On this decision of the Modi government, the Dalit Congress President and Maharashtra's Power Minister taunted and called it the helplessness of the govt.
- Nitin Raut said, "Just like a person gets addicted to alcohol, he sells his valuables, in the same way, Modi govt has got addicted to privatization."
- He further wrote, "After platform, airport, Bharat Petroleum now LIC will be sold. He compared Modi government to British."
- The Modi govt has set a target of raising Rs 1.75 lakh crore in the current financial year. 1 lakh crore will be raised by reducing the govt's stake in the public sector and institutions.
