Shameful: Mentally challenged girl gang-raped in Kerala, five accused arrested
- In Kozhikode, Kerala, a 21-year-old mentally challenged girl was sexually assaulted thrice in a year by some people on the pretext of allegedly helping her.
- So far, five people have been arrested in connection with five separate incidents of rape.
- Police said the first incident took place about five months ago and one of the accused has been arrested and sent to judicial custody.
- After this, some unidentified persons gang-raped the girl twice. According to the victim's statement, 3 persons were involved in both the incidents of gang rape, out of which two have been arrested.
- Police said that the third accused is absconding, efforts are on to nab him. It is being told that the victim girl is mentally unwell and often goes out of her house without informing anyone.
