Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor today targeted the Centre over technical difficulties in the new income tax portal.
He alleged that the govt was using it despite spending Rs 4200 crore on it. Failed to adapt and created chaos.
Tharoor said that a CA belonging to the All India Professional Congress informed him that the new changes made in the income tax portal were "very bad" and led to lapses in login.
He added, "Almost all features of the new portal are non-operational, so ITR filing, 15 CA/CB forms, data prep for appeals has ground2halt."
Shashi asked, " Why was the Portal switched at peak time when Income taxpayers usually file their returns & claim refunds? Why was no testing of the new Portal done before its launch?"
