'UP's development'- 86 lakh plants planted on paper in 3 years, empty pits on the ground

  • In Agra, the city of Taj Mahal, 86 lakh saplings have been planted on paper in three years, but in reality, the saplings are missing from the spot.
  • The state government on Sunday launched a campaign to plant 25 crore saplings in the entire state, in which nodal officers were also sent from Lucknow.
  • At three places, the Municipal Corporation had planted saplings, while other departments also planted saplings but their verification was not done.
  • The plants planted a year ago should have grown now, but not a single plant was seen.
  • There was an exercise to register the name in the Guinness Book of Records, but the officers could not get the roots of the plants on the ground.
