
Assam social activist Akhil Gogoi acquitted by a special NIA court in a sedition case
- Assam social activist and MLA Akhil Gogoi has been acquitted by a special NIA court in the second UAPA sedition case today.
- Significantly, Gogoi had opposed the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Then he was accused of sedition and inciting violence.

- He has defeated BJP's candidate Surabhi Rajkunwar and Congress's Shubramitra Gogoi.
