UP: Petition against investigation of the Archaeological Department in the Gyanwide Mosque adjacent to Kashi Vishwanath temple
- Sunni Waqf Board has filed a revision petition in the District Court of Varanasi.
- This petition is on the order of the fast track court on April 9 regarding the Gyanvapi Masjid.
- It said that the Gyanvapi Masjid should be investigated by the Archaeological Department to find out whether there was a temple or not and worship was done or not.
- The Sunni Waqf Board has put this point before the district court in the revision petition that the said court did not have the right to give this decision.
- It further added that it does not come under the 1991 Act, so it can be stopped by hearing it again. The district court has fixed July 9 as the date for this revision petition.
