Doctors Day: Only 25% of the families of doctors got the benefit of insurance in first wave, not a single one in the second wave
- We may be celebrating National Doctors Day today, but only doctors who have saved crores of lives from Corona are working in an atmosphere of insecurity.
- In both the waves in the country, 1550 doctors have died due to covid, but the families of most of them have not got the benefit of insurance of Rs 50 lakh.
- IMA President Dr. J.A. Jayalal said that the relatives of a single doctor have not yet received a compensation of Rs 50 lakh under the insurance scheme.
- He said, "In the first wave of corona a year ago, only 25 percent of the families of the dead doctors have got this amount."
- The reality is that the service conditions laid by the government in the insurance scheme (50 Lacs Health Insurance Scheme Healthcare Workers) have mostly left out from the claim of getting compensation.
