Supreme Court orders Centre to give compensation to the families of those who died of Corona
- The Supreme Court gave its verdict in the matter of giving compensation to the families of those who died of the coronavirus.
- The top court ordered the Central govt that it should give compensation to the families of those who died of Covid.
- The court said that the Centre should direct the state governments within six weeks to tax the compensation amount.
- It also directed the Centre that the process of getting the death certificate should also be simplified.
- However, how much this compensation should be, it will have to be decided by the govt itself. While pronouncing the verdict, SC also agreed that compensation of Rs 4 lakh each.
