Delhi riots: Delhi Police violates the principle of natural justice in the case of student activists
- Former Supreme Court judge, Justice Madan B Lokur has made a strong remark to the Delhi Police regarding the Delhi riots.
- He said, "In the case of anti-CAA student activists, the police has violated the principle of natural justice at every step."
- Lokur said, "The way Devangana was arrested from a virtual courtroom on 24 May 2020, it had never happened in Indian judicial history."
- He compared the situation to Amitabh Bachchan's film Shahenshah in which the villain is 'accidentally' hanged inside a court.
- The former judge said, "In our Constitution, peaceful protest has been allowed, it is a fundamental right under Article 19(1) (b) of the Constitution."
