  • Purnesh Modi had filed a complaint against Rahul Gandhi under sections 499 and 500 of the Indian Penal Code in April 2019.
  • He had alleged in his complaint that while addressing an election rally in 2019, Rahul Gandhi had defamed the entire Modi community by saying 'Why do all thieves have Modi in their names?'
