Haryana: Despite concerns by IMA, CM approves purchase of unapproved Patanjali products worth Rs 3 crores from Covid Fund
- During the outbreak of the corona epidemic in the country, the IMA had raised concerns that the use of unapproved drugs for Covid-19, including Coronil, could lead to an increase in the death rate.
- Despite this fact, the Haryana Govt approved the purchase of Patanjali products, which has been revealed in an application to the Right to Information Act filed under the Life and Freedom Clause.
- It revealed that Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar had on May 17 approved the purchase of three Patanjali medicines, each worth Rs 2,72,50,000, in which Including the controversial Coronil.
- A purchase order was also issued the very next day. However, the government declined to say whether there was any tender process involved.
- Haryana's lawyer Pradeep Rapadia's application had sought details on the order as the IMA had raised concerns that using unapproved drugs for COVID-19 could lead to an increase in the death rate.
