Despite unemployment and Covid, India adds 38 fresh billionaires in 2021: Forbes
Despite the COVID 19 pandemic hit and the increasing unemployment in India, India's billionaires rose from 102 to 140 this year.
This data was mentioned in Forbes World's Billionaires list 2021. According to the report, India recorded the third-highest number of billionaires across the world.
The combined wealth was $596 billion which is nearly double from last year when it shrunk 23 percent to $313 billion.
The three richest Indians in the Forbes list are Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd, Gautam Adani, chairman of Adani Group, and Shiv Nadar, former chairman of HCL Technologies.
Ambani secured the 10th position on the global list. Now, he is Asia’s richest man with $84.5 billion in net worth, which was $36.8 billion in 2020.
