Bihar: PL Punia accuses center, claims, SC / ST housing fund given to other beneficiaries

Former chairman of the National Scheduled Castes Commission, PL Punia has spoken about the use of the Scheduled Castes Sub Plan and Tribal Sub Plan funds in other works under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
He said that after building some houses for the beneficiaries of Scheduled Castes and Tribes, the fund was transferred to other and minorities.
According to the PMAY portal, the construction of any house in Bihar was not approved in 2018-19, while the Center paid Rs 1,354.80 crore for the financial year under the SCSP strategy.
In the year 2019-20, out of 61 houses sanctioned for SC beneficiaries, a total of 39 were constructed. The Center spent Rs 749.40 cr under the SCSP scheme.
In the year 2020-21, out of 61 houses sanctioned for SC beneficiaries, 39 were constructed, while Rs 39.59 crore was disbursed. During this financial year, the construction of 2,25,696 houses was approved for others, while the same number was 29,653 houses for minorities.
