#cancelboardexams2021: CBSE, CISCE responds to students' demands after over 1 Lakh petitions

  • Amid a surge in COVID 19 cases in India, over 1 lakh students of classes 10th and 12th have filed petitions to cancel the central board exams.
  • Currently, hashtag #cancelboardexams2021 has been trending on Twitter with the students demanding either cancellation of board exams or conduct them in online mode.
  • To this, the CBSE and CISCE have responded and said that adequate safety arrangements are being made for the students and COVID 19 norms will be followed during exams.
  • It further added that to ensure social distancing, the number of exam centers has been increased by 40-50 percent and everything is being sanitized.
  • Meanwhile, a student has tweeted, "Our Government is making us choose between our life and an exam. Apparently, Boards > Students Life. There's a bloody pandemic, give us a break."
