BJP did fake promises in 2016 polls, now Assam will slip out of its hands, says Chhattisgarh CM

  • The Assam Assembly election is scheduled to be held from March 27 to April 6. Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel has observed that the BJP has failed to deliver on 2016 poll promises.
  • Baghel said that BJP had promised to seal the Bangladesh border, construct Expressways on both sides of the Brahmaputra river, which the party didn't complete.
  • He said that in 2016 polls, the BJP in Assam also promised to raise the daily wages of tea garden workers, but they didn't.
  • He added, "BJP ka nasha utar gaya hai. They have failed to deliver promises. They don't have an agenda. Assam is going to slip out of their hands."
  • The senior Congress leader said that the BJP should first decide who has been the state CM for the last 5 years-Sarbananda Sonowal or Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
