SP legislators seek 5 % quota for Muslim education, non-implementation of CAA, NRC from MVA govt

  • Samajwadi Party legislators Abu Asim Azmi and Rais Shaikh asked for a resolution to be passed in the Maharashtra assembly.
  • Putting pressure on the ruling MVA govt, they have asked the MVA govt to ensure a 5 % reservation for Muslims in education.
  • Azmi and Shaikh also asked for an assurance from the MVA govt that the CAA and the NRC will not be implemented in the state.
  • Shaikh said that even after the 18 months of coming to power, the MVA govt doesn't talk about or draft policies that would benefit the minority community.
  • He added that the state govt should pass a resolution in the Assembly about the non-implementation of the NRC and Muslim reservation in the state.
