Army General Gen Naravane visits India-China stand-off site in Ladakh to review ongoing situation

On the second day of his two-day-long visit to Ladakh, Army chief Gen MM Naravane on Wednesday visited eastern Ladakh, the place where fierce standoff between Indian and Chinese troops had taken place.
Gen Naravane, during his interaction with the soldier, commended the valour of the soldiers deployed on the frontlines amid harsh weather conditions and challenging terrain.
His visit to eastern Ladakh, where the Chinese troops had challenged the perceptive Line of Actual Control, is being seen as a significant gesture towards the soldiers.
Gen Naravane had landed at the headquarters of 14 Corps, on Monday to review the situation and the operational preparedness of the troops.
14 Corps was set up within months of the Kargil war to effectively guard the borders that run up to heights of 12,000 to 14,000 plus feet above sea level.
