The SC ordered govt and NABL accredited private labs to conduct free of cost COVID-19 testing.
In its order, the court said, "Tests relating to COVID-19 must be carried out in NABL accredited labs or any agencies approved by the WHO or ICMR."
The court also directed the center to issue necessary directions in this regard immediately.
The bench said, "The tests relating to COVID-19 whether in approved government laboratories or approved private laboratories shall be free of cost."
According to the latest updates India has reported 5194 confirmed cases of coronavirus including 149 deaths.
