PM Modi said the financial package announced by govt to deal with the impact of the coronavirus lockdown will go a long way in ensuring the food and livelihood security of the poor.
PM Modi said, "It is our firm resolve that the poor and vulnerable get all possible help to cope with the testing times."
On Thursday FM announced Rs 1.7 Lakh Crores relief package for urban and rural poor.
This package included free foodgrain and cooking gas to the poor for 3 months, and Rs 1000 as ex-gratia for senior citizens, widows other disabled.
Apart from this the package also provides an insurance cover of Rs 50 lakh per health worker fighting COVID-19.
