The UP government on Wednesday banned the manufacture and sale of pan masala to avoid coronavirus spread.
"Manufacturing, sale and storage of pan masala is being banned in the state till further orders," Food Security Commissioner Ministhy S stated.
The state government has issued a set of new guidelines to be followed during the lockdown.
The government is also dealing strictly with those who are violating the orders.
The total number of positive cases reached 38 in the state on Thursday after one more positive case was reported from Pilibhit.
