Jammu and Kashmir hospitals not ready to deal with coronavirus pandemic
- As the world struggles to fight against COVID-19, fear also arises in Indian-administered Kashmir.
- Hospitals in Kashmir remains understaffed and ill-equipped to fight the outbreak.
- Jammu and Kashmir which holds around 1.25 crore population have 180 ventilators, occupied by the patients at all times, rarely leaving any space for COVID-19 patients.
- Doctors have also raised concerns about the lack of proper and adequate protection equipments like N95 masks, PVC coated gowns and ventilators in hospitals.
- The Union Territory reported three more positive cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday, taking the total number of positive cases to seven.
