CM Yogi Adityanath has announced a lockdown in the entire state for three days from Wednesday.
He added that where necessary, the government could also impose a curfew.
While reviewing the state of lockdown in 17 districts on Tuesday, the CM said that not more than two persons should gather at any place.
He has directed district administrations to ensure that a strong message is sent out to people to stay at home.
The CM has told district administrations to ensure that there is no shortage of food items and milk.
