Shiv Sena To Make Maharashtra Plastic-Free
- The Shiv Sena-led govt will make Maharashtra free of single-use plastic items by May 1.
- This was said by Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray on Friday.
- Thackeray said, "Single-use disposable plastic items are already banned in the state. However, these items are still found in markets."
- "Plastic bottles of soft drinks are exempt from the ban as of now", he said.
- He further added that the govt has also fixed Rs 15 per kg rate under the buy-back policy of plastic items from conservancy workers.
