Congress leader P Chidambaram launched an attack the central govt for booking 2 ex-CMs of J&K under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA).
The senior Congress leader tweeted, “Detention without charges is the worst abomination in a democracy."
"When unjust laws are passed or unjust laws are invoked, what option do the people have than to protest peacefully?" Chidambaram further tweeted.
Reacting to PM Modi's remark that protest leads to anarchy the ex-FM reminded PM Modi about Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, and Nelson Mandela and why people protest.
"Unjust laws must be opposed through peaceful resistance and civil disobedience. That is satyagraha,” he said.
