Consider Inviting the Finance Minister: Congress Mocks BJP

On Thursday, PM Modi held a consultation with economists ahead of the Budget and FM Nirmala Sitharaman was absent from this meeting.
On this Congress mocked BJP and tweeted, "Here's a suggestion, next budget meeting, consider inviting the Finance Minister."
Seeing the situation getting out of hand the FM office responded, that she had already met the economists on 20th Dec 2019 as a part of the pre-budget consultations.

Sources say that Nirmala Sitharaman informed PM Modi that she could not cancel the scheduled meeting at the BJP office, therefore, had to skip the consultation.
The sources said, " Nirmala ji was busy attending another meeting. The parallel meet was pre-scheduled at the BJP Headquarters. Suggesting that she was excluded from this meeting is political notoriety."
