Center Request SC to Hear the Pleas Against CAA
- The central government has approached the SC seeking transfer of all the cases challenging CAA pending in various high courts to the apex court.
- The plea was mentioned by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, before CJI S.A. Bobde.
- Tushar Mehta told the court that the multiplicity of proceedings will lead to different conclusions regarding the validity of the act.
- Therefore, it is appropriate that the SC transfers all the cases in various high courts to itself, he further said.
- CJI Bobde agreed with him and will hear the plea on 10 January.
