Why Haven't the Non-BJP States Witnessed Violence: Amit Shah to Opposition
- On Thursday, Union Home minister Amit Shah said that protests against CAA were politically driven.
- He said, “I am making this allegation publicly that the protests were politically motivated, which explains the fact that no violence took place in non-BJP states."
- He further said, "It explains the intent behind the protests. Opposition parties, mainly Congress, should explain as to why protests were violent only in the BJP-ruled states.”

- Justifying the police actions against the protestors Amit Shah said, "Police can’t sit idle if buses are being burnt and arson is taking place."
- Amit Shah once again reinstated that CAA is about giving citizenship and not about taking away anyone.
