Kerala BJP Slams Pinarayi Vijayan's Stand on Citizenship Act
- BJP state gen-sec K Surendran termed CM Pinarayi Vijayan's statement on Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) as “illegal and violation of the Constitution”.
- He demanded that the CM should apologize to the people for his remark.
- Surendran said, “It is a violation of oath of office. There is only one rule in the country. It is the central govt that grants citizenship."
- He further said, "The stand of the CM is favoring those who want to create riots in the country and those who want to destroy the country."
- Earlier CM Pinarayi Vijayan said that his government would not implement the CAA in the state.
