TMC Members Stage a Dharna Against the Governor

  • MLAs of the ruling TMC set a precedent in the WB assembly when they staged a dharna on its premises.
     
  • Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar, however, held in a letter to the Speaker that the buck stopped at Nabanna because the state govt’s response on the bill was awaited.
     
  • TMC members from SC/ST constituencies accused Dhankhar of sitting on the bill when CM was trying to ensure the welfare of these communities.

  • TMC Partha Chatterjee said, “Despite speaking to the governor, the bills didn’t get the nod."
     
  • He further said,  "We have duly addressed all his queries but nothing has moved forward.”
