TMC Members Stage a Dharna Against the Governor

MLAs of the ruling TMC set a precedent in the WB assembly when they staged a dharna on its premises.
Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar, however, held in a letter to the Speaker that the buck stopped at Nabanna because the state govt’s response on the bill was awaited.
TMC members from SC/ST constituencies accused Dhankhar of sitting on the bill when CM was trying to ensure the welfare of these communities.

TMC Partha Chatterjee said, “Despite speaking to the governor, the bills didn’t get the nod."
He further said, "We have duly addressed all his queries but nothing has moved forward.”
