Shiv Sena MLA Arvind Sawant Resigns From the Post of Union Minister

  • Union minister Arvind Sawant said that he will resign from the Modi government.
     
  • On Monday Sawant tweeted, "why stay in Delhi government in such a false environment and that is why I am resigning as the Union minister."
     
  • This decision of Sawant comes hours after the BJP government declined to form the government.

  • Later, Shiv Sena, the second-largest party in the state with 56 MLAs was asked to form the govt and they have till 7:30 pm to stake a claim.
     
  • The Shiv Sena is trying to form a government with the help of NCP but NCP said that Sena will have to leave NDA first.
