Hundreds of contractual staff at Honda Bike & Scooter India’s (HMSI) Manesar plant are on a tool-down strike in opposition to retrenchment of around 500 workers. HMSI Employee Union leaders alleged that the company has reduced the production of the facility by 50% and is in the process of retrenching more contractual workers.
