Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar assured alumni of Jadavpur University students of protecting its reputation and respecting its autonomy by minimizing outside interference.
He promised the JU global alumni members he would speak to the state and the Centre about the Institution of Eminence tag for the university.
The UGC launched the scheme to empower higher education institutions and help them become world-class teaching and research facilities.
