- West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar has claimed he was sidelined at a Durga puja event on October 11 at Red Road in Kolkata.
- He said the treatment meted out to him reminded him of the "dark era of the Emergency".
- Dhankar said he was made to sit in a wing, adjacent to the main central podium where CM Mamata Banerjee sat and watched the program.

- However, what really surprised him was the deafening silence on the part of media on such a treatment meted out to a political executive.
- Calling this to be a case of intolerance he said people of WB, who are warm, hospitable must have been outraged by this show of lack of respect and outrageous insult.
