Vijai slams govt on ODF status; terms it 'fraud'

Launching a scathing attack on the State government, Vijai Sardesai on Saturday termed the declaration of Goa as open defecation free (ODF) State as “fraud”.
He demanded that the CBI investigate into the road works across the State, which he described as a scandal bigger than "Bihar fodder scam ".
Questioning whether Margao and Fatorda are Open Defecation Free, he accused the government of committing a fraud by declaring Goa as ODF as both the Panjim Mayor.
He also asked the local bodies whether they had inspected the construction sites, institutions and residences to check their ODF status.

"The ODF declaration has been made by diluting the norms and to save the State from embarrassment," he alleged.
