Yediyurappa directs enquiry into Siddaramaiah's schemes

Chief Minister Yediyurappa has directed the chief secretary to conduct an investigation into allegations of irregularities happening in Krishi Bhagya yojana, an agricultural scheme launched by the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government.
He has also ordered an inquiry into waste management expenditure by Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).
According to the chief minister the documents shows that the agriculture department had spent Rs 921.2 crore on Krishi Bhagya yojana scheme, but the figure seems to be inflated. Moreover, Yediyurappa further stated that 66% of region where these schemes were implemented are rain-fed, and does not warrant such high expenditure.
The scheme was launched in 2014-15 and documents shows that 2,15,130 ponds were constructed across 131 taluks. Major cases of irregularities arises in the year between 2014-15 and 2017-18 when Krishna Byregowda was agriculture minister.
Yediyurappa also raised doubts and ordered an enquiry into the working of BBMP’s waste management. The Chief Minister is of the view that annually over Rs 1,067 crore is spend towards waste management and Rs 410 towards setting up and running of seven scientific waste processing units, most of which are allegedly dysfunctional.
