BJP drags farmers more deep into the darkness of poverty and hunger: Cong

Congress under its campaign “15 years of BJP rule Vesrus 9-month of Kamal Nath’s rule” alleged BJP and ex-CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan that the former CM never paid attention to the difficulties of farmers, instead carried out firing on them when they asked for remunerative prices for their produce.
On the other hand appreciating current CM, State Congress media cell vice-president Abhay Dubey states that assuming office of the chief minister Kamal Nath instantly waived loans of up to Rs 2 lakh.
He further put allegations on Shivraj that the former CM promised loan waiver for farmers of up to Rs 50,000 but never cared to fulfil the promise. Moreover, the statistics department of the state government also exposed fake figures of agricultural growth during his regime.
“The agriculture census report of the Union government published on September 24, 2018, reveals that 11.31 lakh farmers gave up agriculture in the state from the 2011 to 2016 and land under cultivation also shrank by 1.66 lakh hectares”, stated Dubey.
Explaining present government plan Abhay  said that tap water scheme for 14,000 villages is under implementation at a mammoth cost of Rs1,196.87 crore.
