100 years old building collapses in Ahmedabad

A three-storey building collapsed in Ahmedabad’s Amraiwadi area in Gujarat.
As per reports, authorities have rescued at least seven people while several others are feared to be trapped under the debris of the buidling.
The structure was said to be 100 years old. BJP’s Amraiwadi councillor Baldev Desai was quoted  as saying by an English daily.
So far, there were no reports of any casualties or injuries due to the incident.
Soon after the incident, administration officials rushed to the spot and were said to be monitoring the rescue operations.
Visuals from the accident spot showed that locals were also helping rescue teams in searching for survivors amid the debris.
A similar incident had taken place in Kheda in August, when at least four people were killed after a three-storey building had collapsed in the area.
The incident had taken place in Pragatinagar in Nadiad area in Kheda district. Initial reports had suggested that heavy rains in the area had caused the building to collapse last month.
