PM to gift Jharkhand new Assembly building on Sept 12

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new building of Jharkhand Assembly and an inland waterways project in Sahibganj on September 12. Apart from launching these two major projects, the Prime Minister who will be State for second time after becoming PM for second consecutive time, will also inaugurate or will lay the foundation stones of other projects. The last time Modi visited Ranchi on June 21, when he led the International Day of Yoga from State Capital.
State BJP president Laxman Gilua said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is visiting Ranchi on September 12 will inaugurate Jharkhand Assembly new building, the inland waterways at Sahibganj and will also launch PM Kishan pension scheme which entitles pension to farmers from the age of 40 years to 60 years.”
Gilua also said that the PM will inaugurate the 69 Eklavya buildings—a residential school meant for children from tribal community.
Meanwhile, preparations for mega function are going on at war footing pace. Sources said that there will be two functions, first the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Assembly new building coming up Kute village followed by which he will inaugurate an inland waterways project in Sahibganj.
An official looking after the PM’s visit preparations requesting anonymity said, “The Prime Minister on his visit to Ranchi on September 12, will first inaugurate Vidhan Sabha building. The function is being organized by Jharkhand Assembly office. After inaugurating the new premises he will launch the inland waterways project at Sahibganj from Prabhat Tara ground, now Jagarnath ground. Apart from launching the new inland waterways terminal at Sahibganj, he will also launch slew of other projects mainly from agriculture and other sectors.”
At Prabhat Tara ground, Modi will also address the people highlighting the benefits of double engine Governments at Centre and State. The district administration is working on ways for making sitting arrangements of 30,000 people at the Prabhat Tara ground. Apart from PM, the function will also be attended by Chief Minister Raghubar Das, Assembly Speaker Dinesh Oraon and ministers from Das’ Cabinet.
The new building of Jharkhand Assembly will be a State-of-Art building built with a budget of Rs. 465 crore. The dome shaped building will have the height of 37 metre replicating the rich culture and tradition of Jharkhand. Through the strength of Jharkhand Assembly is 81, but there will be sitting capacity for 150 lawmakers in central hall keeping in mind that the Assembly strength  will go up due to delimitation in future.
The new Jharkhand Assembly premises will be first in the country which will be entirely paperless. For energy efficiency, 300 KVA two solar power systems have been installed through which power will be supplied to new building. Sources said that the new Assembly building will meet 40 per cent of its power requirement through renewable energy. Spread on about 39 acres at Kute in HEC area, the construction work of Assembly new building started in 2014.
After the inauguration of new building, the Jharkhand Assembly  has also planned two days special session of Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha where abrogation of Article 370 and 35 (A) from Jammu and Kashmir will be discussed.
The PM will also inaugurate the multi-modal port in Sahibganj — the ambitious projects which are in final stages of completion. With the inauguration of inland waterways in Jharkhand, State will be connected with other port in country. As per planned, the Centre has also given in principle nod for construction of 730 km highway km from Sahibganj to Dhamra port in Odisha as per Bharat Mala project.
