Taking a dig at Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) authorities, Congress party on Thursday alleged that the civic body has miserably failed in providing citizens affordable and reliable public transport.
It also cited governments claims that close to 10 lakh trees have been cut in past five years as a counter to AMC's claims of having enabled planting 10 lakh trees this year since World Environment Day on June 5.

While welcoming the idea of having electric buses, chief spokesman of Congress party in Gujarat, Manish Doshi said that these buses have been plying on the roads the city for past few months, so the ceremony on Thursday was a mere publicity event.
